Overview

Conveniently located along National Route 161, which runs north and south along the western shore of Lake Biwa, this roadside station is an excellent stop for shopping and dining in Takashima City. Popular local souvenirs include sweets and other products made with Adoberry (the local name for boysenberry), local sake, and freshly harvested vegetables. Takashima is also Japan’s leading producer of sensu fan ribs, accounting for about 90% of the national market share. As a result, the station offers a wide variety of traditional folding fans, which are popular souvenirs among visitors.

At the restaurant, visitors can enjoy delicious dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. The charcoal-grilled Omi Beef hamburger steak is especially recommended.
