Spot No. 1 Azuchi-jo Castle Museum “The House of Nobunaga”
Azuchi-jo Castle, constructed in 1579 under orders from Nobunaga Oda and said to be the first high-rise wooden construction in the world, was apparently also a big hit with missionaries visiting Japan. In 1992 the 5th and 6th stories were recreated at the Seville Expo in Spain. You can also experience a recreation using cutting-edge computer graphics in the “VR Azuchi-jo” theater.

Spot No. 2 Shiga Prefectural Azuchi Castle Archeological Museum
The first permanent installation hall has a theme of “archaeology,” allowing you to slip back in time to Omi during the Yayoi period (300 BC to 300 AD) and the Kofun period (300 to 538). The second permanent installation hall has a theme of the “Middle Ages & Warring States Period,” showing the changes in castles including Azuchi-jo Castle and information on feudal lord Nobunaga Oda.

Spot No. 3 Lake Nishinoko
At Lake Nishinoko you can experience the Water Channel Tour that feudal lord Nobunaga Oda and his court are said to have enjoyed so much. There is also a cycling road along the shores of the lake, allowing you to take a ride while enjoying the breeze from the water.
