Hachimanyama Ropeway
This ropeway takes around four minutes to transport you from the base of the mountain to the top, from where you can enjoy a sweeping panorama that includes Lake Biwa, Lake Nishinoko and the old town below, all wreathed in the glory of the current season.

The wide grounds of the Fisheries Center includes a number of ponds, providing plenty of opportunities to get close to the water and the fish swimming in it.
Omizo Waterside Sightseeing
The ruins of Omizo-jo Castle and the old castle town were reorganized by the powerful Wakebe clan, and the old waterworks and water channels that draw water from mountains and wells are still being used by residents today.
Roadside Station Kohoku Mizudori Station
Kohoku Mizudori Station is located inside a water bird park that is visited by a variety of wild birds throughout the year.

Remains of the Enmanin Temple Gate
The large and extremely beautiful gardens that spread to the south of Enmanin-shinden Temple are a nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty and Historic Site, and a visit is especially recommended during the changing of the leaves in fall.

Omi Jingu Shrine
Omi Jingu Shrine is a registered Cultural Property, and a representative example of the Showa period (1926 – 1989) shrine construction known as Omi construction or Showa construction.
Celestial Maidens’ Willow
It is said that once, long ago, many celestial maidens descended from the heavens in the form of swans and played in the water on the southern bank of Lake Yogo.
Hyozu-taisha Shrine and the Yatsugasaki Ritual
There is a legend that the deity worshipped at this shrine reached its current location by crossing Lake Biwa.
Biwako Otsukan
The Biwako Otsukan was built in 1934 as the first international tourism hotel in the prefecture, with the intention of bringing in more tourists from overseas.
Chikubushima (Tsukubusuma-jinja Shrine)
The main shrine at Tsukubusuma-jinja Shrine is a National Treasure, decorated inside with elegant and gorgeous décor representative of the Azuchi-Momoyama period (1573 – 1603).
Takebe Taisha Shrine
Said to be the foremost shrine in Omi, and in terms of length of history and overall pedigree, one of the premier and oldest shrines in all of Japan.
